I do a lot of work with children,
sex abuse cases against schools, camps,
and sometimes we'll deal with
police brutality cases.
Those are always cases
that are very difficult.
But if it's hard, we do it.
I think being able to find the truth
and when people hide the truth,
and getting to the bottom of a story
to tell the clients,
"Hey, we were able
to achieve some kind of justice"
when everything around
them seems like it's falling.
The advice that I would give somebody
that's just starting off
with a career in law
would be, find a mentor,
and to have that mentor guide you
through the difficulties
of being able to be a woman
in the practice of law,
and also a litigator in high-value cases.
The law changes every single day,
and you can't be expected to know
everything every single day,
but relying on people
that are in fields that you trust
to share information and to work with,
is how we stay on top of everything.
I love helping animals.
I have four dogs,
and I work with a rescue group.
So every Saturday, I go and help dogs
that are looking for families,
and there's nothing better
than seeing a puppy find its home.
I really love everybody I work with,
and how hard
everybody works at this firm.
I'm really appreciative of having
the support system that we have,
especially the ladies
that are in the downtown office.
Our Redondo Beach crew is just amazing.
We depend on our support staff.
If we don't have them,
we might as well not be here.
