One Killed, Three Injured in San Francisco Mission District Pedestrian Crash
A pedestrian was killed and three others were injured after a vehicle struck four pedestrians near 16th and Mission streets in San Francisco’s Mission District, according to local reports. San Francisco police responded to the area around 12:13 a.m. after the collision was reported. One pedestrian was treated for life-threatening injuries and later died at the hospital. Three other pedestrians were assessed at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police later located the suspected vehicle and detained the occupant. The investigation remains open, and authorities have asked anyone with information to contact the San Francisco Police Department.
A fatal pedestrian crash can leave families with urgent questions about what happened and what steps to take next. While police may conduct their own investigation, a civil investigation may also help identify whether a driver, vehicle owner, company, roadway condition, or another party may be responsible.
