You can file a claim after getting into a bike accident By chris on April 15, 2016

Living in San Francisco, you probably enjoy a bike ride occasionally. Maybe you ride to work or school, too. Unfortunately, the roads aren't always safe for people like yourself, even if you take precautions against getting into an accident.

The City of San Francisco knows that there are dangers for cyclists and pedestrians. Although some initiatives have been used, if you're hit or hurt, it's important that you seek compensation. You need to make sure you get the money you need to recover without concern for lost wages or medical bills.

Maps have been released that show where most cyclists and pedestrians are killed in San Francisco. The maps also show where it's most likely for cyclists or pedestrians to be hurt. According to a report, the major commercial corridors are the places most likely to result in crashes and injuries or deaths.

In 2014, a new policy called "Vision Zero" was enacted to help the city reduce pedestrian deaths. The city collected data from between 2005 and 2011 from the California Highway Patrol to see the areas most likely to be causing trouble for the city.

The points on the maps show that there were 5,325 injuries and 127 deaths between 2005 and 2011. The most common areas where these incidents took place were in Union Square, Jackson Square, Chinatown, and downtown in the Tenderloin. Major thoroughfares, like Geary Boulevard, also posed a high risk to cyclists and pedestrians.

If you're hit by a car, you need to consider all your options for compensation. Our website has more information, so you can learn more before you file a claim.
