2 killed, 2 injured in serious traffic accident resulting in fire By chris on August 18, 2015

When you get into your car, there's always a potential for a crash. Even if you're as careful as you can be, other drivers may not be abiding by the rules of the road. Particularly dangerous are teen drivers, who may still not be familiar with their vehicles or the rules of the road. Sometimes, younger drivers also like to push the limits and while it may be fun for them, it can often end in disaster. An Aug. 15 report about a crash that took the lives of two people and injured two others brings this situation to reality.

The news reports that a crash took place close to the intersection of Bradshaw and Rogers in South Sacramento that involved two vehicles and resulted in fatalities. A 31-year-old and 26-year-old were inside a 1992 pickup truck driving home from a family event when another vehicle, a Dodge Challenger, traveling at speeds near 100 mph struck their vehicle. Both of them were thrown from the vehicle on impact.

Both people in the truck were severely burned when the vehicle suddenly caught on fire and burst into flames. Their vehicle had traveled around 225 feet before being engulfed by flames. Both of the occupants were killed, and police reported that they had been unrecognizable because of the extent of their injuries.

An 18-year-old man was driving the Dodge Challenger with his 15-year-old brother when he struck the truck. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries in the collision. Police haven't reported which charges the teen could face for the accident or if the passenger could face charges as well.
