Alleged drunk driver kills 4 in horrible accident
Drinking and driving is never something that is acceptable. When a driver decides to get behind the wheel of a vehicle after drinking, that driver is putting the lives of everyone else on the roadway is his or her hands. This point was proven in a horrifying way on May 12.
On that night, a man decided to get behind the wheel of his 1997 Ford Mustang allegedly after drinking. While he was driving through a hard turn, he ran into a concrete drainage ditch. He survived, but his passengers didn't. He is now facing criminal charges for those deaths.
He is in jail on a $250,000 bail for a host of charges that could land him in prison for up to 22 years and 8 months. Even if he gets that amount of time, the family members of the passengers who were killed likely won't feel any emotional relief.
In this accident, four people were killed. Three of the passengers were only 18 years old. The other passenger was 24 years old. All of the teens were still in high school. Losing a family member at such a young age isn't something that anyone should go through.
When it comes to drunk driving accidents, the risk is real. Anyone can be a victim of a drunk driving crash. If you have lost a loved in a crash that was caused by a drunk driver, you should know that you have the right to seek compensation for your loss. Civil cases, such as wrongful death cases, are completely different from criminal justice cases.
