Driver on methamphetamine kills 1 man, wife pregnant By chris on August 22, 2014

When most people hear of an accident caused by a driver who was under the influence, they probably think of a driver who has been drinking. That, however, isn't always the case. A recent case out of Fresno, California, has to do with a woman who was under the influence of methamphetamine.

The fatal accident happened in an SUV the woman had allegedly stolen. The woman ran a red light when she slammed into a vehicle that was being driven by a 26-year-old man who was on his way to work. That man, who was married in March of last year, died at the scene of the accident.

The woman who ran the red light faces several charges in connection with the accident. She was driving with a license that was suspended in 2012.

While that driver faces the legal system, the man's family has to move on without him. Besides his wife, he leaves behind a young daughter. On the evening of the fatal accident, the man's wife posted a status on Facebook that she was pregnant. Now, one child has to say goodbye to her father, while another child will never know his or her father -- all because a woman decided to drive under the influence of methamphetamine.

People who have lost a loved one at the hands of a driver under the influence of drugs might decide to seek compensation for their loss. That compensation might help them to get the closure they so desperately seek while helping to give them the monetary ability to move on.
