How San Francisco Residents Feel About Motorcycle Safety By chris on July 30, 2014

We recently asked three San Francisco residents about how they feel about motorcycles in the city.

"There's no protection for the person or the person driving," one resident said, who added that blind spots are a huge problem, especially on highways. "I can't see a motorcycle coming even if I look over my shoulder. It's a blind spot. I've almost hit motorcyclists before."

"I think it's more dangerous because you're vulnerable to being hit by anything," another resident said.

All of the residents we spoke to also added that motorcycle is more dangerous than a car, noting the relative lack of protection that motorcyclists have when compared to passenger car drivers.

Our interviews of San Francisco residents were done as part of a presentation on motorcycle safety given by Aimee Kirby, an attorney at the Dolan Law Firm. Mrs. Kirby dedicates her practice to motorcycle accidents, and civil torts.
