Jay Korber to receive $3.75 million payout after bicycle accident By chris on June 13, 2014

A San Francisco resident will receive about $3.75 million for injuries he suffered when a street sweeper kicked him off of his bike.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the local musician suffered a broken pelvis, ribs and other personal injuries when he was run over in December 2002.

The city street sweeper reportedly dragged the cyclist after hitting him at Fifth and Brannan Streets late in the evening. Jay Korber sued the city for negligence, and the city attorney's office reportedly agreed to a $3.75 million settlement and an additional $322,000 for unpaid medical costs.

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors needs to approve the settlement before it becomes official
