A woman in her 60's was recently killed by a hit-and-run driver in San Francisco.

Authorities say that the woman was walking in a Visitacion Valley crosswalk around 11:15 a.m. yesterday when she was hit by a white Dodge Durango.

The woman was hit while walking across Bayshore Boulevard at Visitacion Avenue. KQED News reports that the driver did a U-turn and drove past the scene of the accident before fleeing.

Bayshore Boulevard is known for reckless driven because it is a feeder for Highway 101. Local residents say that officer used to be better about enforcing speed limits but that officers had not been posted along the road recently.

This is San Francisco's sixth fatal pedestrian accident of 2014.
