A 30-year-old San Francisco woman is still hospitalized after an early morning drunk driving crash.

San Francisco police spokesman Albie Esparza told CBS San Francisco that the woman hit multiple parked cars near the intersection of Geary Boulevard and 10th Avenue.

Authorities say that the woman will be arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and hit-and-run. It is unclear what her blood-alcohol level was or whether any other people were hurt in this incident.

Footage of the crash shows multiple vehicles severely damaged.

Drunk driving is a leading cause of San Francisco car accident injuries. Drunk drivers are statistically more likely to be involved in severe accidents because intoxicated individuals tend to drive faster and tend not to wear seat belts. There is also a direct correlation between a driver's blood alcohol level and the likelihood that they will be involved in a severe accident.
