A 39-year-old man was killed on Monday evening when he lost control of his vehicle in San Francisco's McLaren Park. CBS News reports that the witnesses heard the crash around 5:30 p.m. and found the man's Mazda Minivan crashed into a tree.

The driver was found partially ejected out of the van's window. Emergency crews rushed the man to San Francisco's General Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

It is unclear what caused this particular car accident to happen, but police say that drug and alcohol do not seem to be contributing factors in this case.

There are many things which could cause a driver to lose control over his or her vehicle including oversteering, distraction, and poor road designs.

Another fatal car accident occurred the prior week on Sunday. Authorities say that a woman was killed after her SUV ran off of U.S. 101 near Morgan Hill on June 2nd.

The woman's car reportedly flew through a fence and then landed in a creek. The crash happened shortly after 3 a.m. and rescuers said that the woman was submerged for a substantial period of time before they were able to get to her.

Paramedics were eventually able to recover the woman's body from Coyote Creek but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
