Police officers from San Francisco are investigating a Tenderloin neighborhood car accident which left two children injured last Sunday. Authorities say that the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Ellis and Larkin Streets.

One of the cars reportedly ran a light. Exactly which car did the light running is unclear because there are conflicting accounts of the crash.

The crash was between a Mercedes and a Hyundai. A witness at the scene said the Mercedes had the right-of-way and the Hyundai ran the light. The people in the Hyundai reportedly tried to flee the scene of the crash by loading their things into a cab, but an eye-witness pointed them out to police officers and an unmarked police car blocked them from leaving.

Both people from the Hyundai were detained pending a full investigation. There may be camera footage of the crash which can determine who is at fault for this car accident.

Another serious accident left a cyclist injured the morning before. That accident happened in San Francisco's Financial District around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Market and Kearny streets.

The extent of the cyclist's injuries is unclear but CBS-San Francisco has run pictures of a badly damaged bicycle.
