Fatalities in two accidents involving Motorcycle, Fuel Tanker
Two separate fatal accidents occurred in Northern California in a span of 12 hours.
A 23 year old man from Santa Rosa was killed in a trucking accident Tuesday night when his car was struck by a tanker loaded with gasoline on state Highway 128 in southern Mendocino County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A Southern California man was killed early Wednesday morning in a motorcycle crash on an Interstate Highway 680 on-ramp in Fremont. According to reports smoke was seen coming from the bike as it traveled up the on-ramp, the rider then veered left and struck a raised median that separates the on-ramp from the highway. The rider was ejected from his motorcycle, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
These accidents are a tragic reminder of how deadly California highways can be.
From a legal perspective preliminary reports seem to indicate that the trucker was responsible for the accident. However more facts are needed to determine the cause of the accident, and show who was at fault and whose negligence contributed to the collision.
