The right to vote is an important right, and California has recognized that not everybody can get to the polls because of their job. So in California, employees have the right to vote in any statewide election. The law promotes this right to vote by saying that if your schedule does not permit you sufficient time to get to your polling place, you're entitled to take up to 2 hours of paid time to make your vote. You need to give your employer at least 2 days notice in advance of taking the time, and try to make the time at the beginning of the day or the end of the day to reduce the impact on your employer. Hopefully, you'll get out and vote without any problem. But if your right is interfered with, contact us at the Dolan Law Firm, dolanlawfirm.com.
