Kim Levy is a Managing Senior Trial Attorney with extensive civil litigation and trial experience. Her practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, government liability, premises liability, and medical malpractice.
A graduate of Santa Clara University School of Law, Ms. Levy began her legal career at the Northern California Innocence Project, where she investigated factual innocence claims for individuals convicted of serious crimes, working to either exonerate clients or confirm the integrity of their convictions.
Since 2011, she has dedicated her practice to representing plaintiffs in personal injury matters, earning a reputation as a formidable and strategic trial lawyer, as well as a fierce and compassionate advocate for individuals and families harmed by the negligence of others.
Ms. Levy has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America since 2023 and has been named a Northern California Super Lawyer since 2016. She has twice been a finalist for Marin Trial Lawyer of the Year (2023 and 2025) and holds leadership roles within the plaintiffs’ bar, including Past President of the San Mateo County Trial Lawyers Association, Past Secretary of the CAOC Women’s Caucus (2024), and Membership Chair of the CAOC Women’s Caucus (2025), where she continues to champion community engagement, local philanthropy, and access to justice.
Ms. Levy was one of the authors of the briefing that led to the published appellate decision in McGovern v. BHC Fremont Hospital, Inc. (2022) 80 Cal.App.5th 75, where the Court of Appeal held that a preservation letter does not constitute a “notice of intent to sue” under Code of Civil Procedure section 364, and allowed discovery of an attacker’s mental health records as necessary to the administration of justice. The decision clarified an important procedural distinction and reinforced plaintiffs’ access to critical evidence in institutional negligence cases.
A Bay Area native, Ms. Levy is a devoted mother of two and an enthusiastic San Francisco Giants fan, bringing the same focus, tenacity, and team spirit from the ballpark to the courtroom.
